Eligibility:

  • Be between the ages of 21 and 45

  • Have settlement funds as required by Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program    https://immigratemanitoba.com/immigrate/policies/settlement-funds/ 

  • Have completed a post-secondary education or training program of at least one-year duration, for which you received a diploma, certificate, or degree

  • Recent (2 years) MPNP approved language test with a minimum CLB score of:

  • Have no other connection to other parts of Canada (i.e. through friends, relatives or previous employment or education) EXCEPTION Physicians or nurses currently licensed in Canada.

  • Have worked at least two years full-time in the past five years in declared occupation, and can demonstrate the ability to find a job in Manitoba in that occupation (including plans to achieve certification in the case of regulated occupations)​

Applications will not be considered if they do not meet minimum qualifications.

All applicants will be chosen based on occupations from the current MCDII Labour Market Outlook Report. From those occupations on that report, the following are considered priority occupations.
Current Priority Occupations:​
  • NOC 31102 Physicians IELTS 7 in each band, currently educated in and fully licensed in USA, UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand. (note that in order to work in this field after arrival, you must meet requirements of https://www.cpsm.mb.ca/registration/IMG-resources)

  • NOC 31301 Registered Nurses  IELTS 7 in each band required  (note that in order to work in this field after arrival, you must meet requirements of https://www.crnm.mb.ca/applicants/internationally-educated-nurses/). Due to potential expidited licensing processes for RNs in Manitoba, preference will be given to applciants who have practiced as an RN in one of the following countries: USA, UK, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand.

  • French teachers require CLB 5 in both English and French (note that in order to work in this field, you must meet requirements of https://www.edu.gov.mb.ca/k12/profcert/cert-process/iet.html)

  • Other Occupations: Applicants in other occupations who meet all other MCDII requirements for skilled worker overseas and are working for a Morden business as a temporary foreign workers OR who have a current job offer from  a Morden business may also apply.

  • Unique or specialized positions through which a substantial benefit to Morden's economic, cultural or social interests can be demonstrated.

Exploratory visits:
MCDII requires all supported applicants to conduct an exploratory visit to Morden. Exploratory visits may be waived in the following conditions: 
  • A formal job offer from a Morden business OR
  • A strong family connection to Morden with Labour Market attachment to Morden OR
  • A strong family-like connection to Morden and Labour Market attachment to Morden in a Priority Occupation
  • Practice-ready Physicians and nurses (those already licensed in Manitoba or another province or those in final stages of Manitoba licensing process) 
 
Please be informed that final authority to issue a Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) certificate of Nomination rests with the Government of Manitoba, while granting permanent residency is administered by Government of Canada

Important Note:

It is your responsibility to ensure you meet all minimum criteria throughout the application process. Please also note that, if you were chosen by MCDII selection committee as someone who has a friend or family connection to Morden, that connection needs to continue throughout your process. This means that if you had a friend or family connection to Morden who have moved elsewhere, your application will be reassessed by Morden's Selection Committee to reevaluate Morden's continued support of your application.
